Hi, I'm Melissa. I’m rebuilding my life in real time. Writing about becoming, learning to use my voice, and making peace with the messy middle. Sometimes spiritual, occasionally funny, always honest, probably crying, mostly fine, and unintentionally magic.

WHY?

I ask myself this a lot. Why do I feel the need to do this? The answer… I still haven’t figured it out. It’s one of those things that has been nagging me in the back of my mind for YEARS. To use my voice. To say the thoughts in my head. To be heard. To share what I have learned.

Will it help anyone? Who knows. Will it annoy anyone? Probably. Am I for everyone? Absolutely not.

But will I do it anyways? Hell yeah!!

WHAT?

What exactly is this website for? Great question… let’s figure it out together. For now, I’ll use it as a place to share my thoughts, feelings, preferences, experiences, favorite bottles of wine, recent amazon purchases, and anything else I think may be useful.

And, you can share too… yep, that’s right. I want you to. I want to hear your thoughts - even if they contradict mine. Because doesn’t that make life fun and a little spicy?? Just be kind in the process because I have no problem giving you the CHOP.

HOW?

You may ask, how are you able to do this? Is this your job?

Not really… at least not yet. As in, I don’t get paid to be here. However, I hope to eventually. Whether that comes from writing or partnerships that I align with or anything else… who knows! The possibilities are endless! (But I’m not selling feet pics… I have to draw the line somewhere.)

My “real” job is being a freelance photographer. I have been doing that since 2007. I started my career in Austin, Texas and moved to Greenville, South Carolina in December 2025. I specialize in capturing lifestyle, branding, headshots, editorial, food, interiors, families and more.

I just like capturing the reality of life. The more authentic and raw… the better.
